A day on Elderian
What a normal session looks like once you know the server.
The loop
Elderian has a shape to it. Once you know it, a session writes itself.
1. Collect what is waiting. /rewards for whatever is off cooldown, /dq for the day's nine quests, and /ah collect for anything that sold overnight.
2. Pick a region that matches what you want to level. Each region has a band, and the band tells you what is worth fighting there. Levelling a Miner? Go where the stone is. Levelling an Archer? Somewhere you can stand back.
3. Work the job that pays for the same activity. Your job and your class overlap deliberately — if you are mining, be on the Miner job, because both progressions advance at once and only one of them pays money.
4. Bounty and contract. Take the region bounty if you have not done it today, and the side quest if your cooldown is up. Both are on the Bounty Hunter NPC.
5. Spend. Money goes to the shop, island borders and the quartermaster. Coins go to the coinshop. Items you do not want go on the auction house.
6. Show up to the event. Town Defence runs on a schedule and the muster call goes out in chat. It pays coins, which is the one thing that is hard to earn any other way.
A quiet day
Not every session needs a plan. Things worth doing when you are not chasing anything:
- Fish. It is a job, it pays, and it is genuinely relaxing.
- Explore. There is no fast travel to somewhere you have never been, and the world is bigger than most people see.
- Build your island.
/islandis the only place you can. A farm and a storage room take an evening. - Hunt a hidden boss. You will probably not find one. When you do, it is an event.
Things that catch people out
- Do not carry money you are not spending. Ten percent of it goes on every death.
- Check the region band before you commit. A border crossing announces itself; the announcement is the warning.
- Collect your auction money. It does not go to your balance on its own.
- Your class level, not your character level, is what gates things. See Classes.
