Sleep and beds

How beds and sleeping work on a survival world you cannot build in.

What we can say for certain

You can set a spawn point with a bed. Beds work normally in that respect.

Survival respawns elsewhere. When you die, you respawn in the town rather than at your bed. That is a server-wide setting, not a per-world one, and it is deliberate: the town is the gathering point, so a death returns you to where the other players are.

What this page still needs

The rest of the bed behaviour — the sleep percentage needed to skip the night, whether sleeping is enabled in the survival worlds at all, and whether a bed can be placed given that building is off — has not been written down in a form we can quote. Sleeping may also be affected by the fact that both survival worlds have building disabled, which means the usual "place a bed, sleep, set spawn" loop may not be available at all.
